CJC-1295 is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) — a 29-amino-acid peptide that stimulates pulsatile GH secretion from pituitary somatotrophs. The DAC variant adds a Drug Affinity Complex side-chain that binds circulating albumin, extending the half-life from ~30 minutes (the no-DAC form, also called Mod GRF 1-29) to 6–8 days. It has Phase I/II human data demonstrating sustained GH/IGF-1 elevation. The DAC and no-DAC forms are distinct compounds with very different dosing characteristics and are not interchangeable.
